Few people are aware of harsh internal realities of the world of Media, especially TV channels. There are a number of issues like fierce competition, stressful working environment, pressure of market, business and TRP, feelings of job insecurity and uncertainty among media persons, day-today misbehavior and exploitation of junior workers, especially female workers but these are being ignored not only by Government, Civil Society and political parties but also by media persons. Common people and TV viewers do not think much about these issues and problems. But these issues and problems directly and indirectly affect the quality of contents and hence the role of TV Channels and thus these issues should not be ignored.
It is also observed that many budding journalists, who are unaware of the harsh realities venture into the field of electronic journalism with great expectations but soon they get disappointed. These satires and fictions based on these realities. Print version of the collection of these satires and stories will soon available in the market with title “Dhibri Channel”. The book includes 22 stories and mostly based on media and television channels.
Media, especially TV channels are effective and powerful tools of social change and development but unfortunately most of the TV Channels have joined the blind race of TRP and they have deviated form its social responsibilities and overlooked their role of social awareness. “Dhibri Channel” highlights that deviations of TV Channels.
